The importance of administrative compliance and maintaining the appropriate boundaries between professionals and their clients (e.g., patient, students, supervisees) can be challenging and is often not well understood. Boundary issues comprise the vast majority of legal cases between professionals and patients/clients. Of course, such violations impact one’s professional license and ultimately the right to practice.
The tutorial program allows the professional to work with experts in the field on an individual basis through a secure, online connection. The program is customized to the needs of the individual professional. Course requirements are designed to maximize understanding of all the issues relevant to professional-client boundaries, while minimizing the probability of further problems.
Referring entities serve a critical role in providing information about the violation. Coordination with the referring entity is an integral part of our services. Many factors lead to violations, therefore we have built a program solidly based in the latest research to aid professionals in re-establishing ethical standards to help protect the people they serve.
The CEB Program provides three distinct packages for compliance as determined and measured by our internal matrix relative to the type of violation, whether the violation is internal or public, its relative impact to the public, and the degree of severity.
Our program begins with information from the referring entity disciplining the licensee. We ask that the referring board provide documents to help us specifically target our interventions with the licensee. To that end, we request all materials the referring entity is willing to provide to guide us in our work.
Participants in our program must complete an introductory interview process. During this intake interview relevant information will be collected to customize a program most effective for the participant. Participants will also be asked to complete assessment tools to help shape the services provided.
Educational sessions serve as a core component of our program. Modules are identified based on the specific circumstances leading to the referral. During these sessions, discussions of clinical vignettes will occur. Ethics and legal standards, risk factors, and consequences for both provider and patient are addressed.
The exact length of the program and the number of sessions is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Participants are required to submit a paper, in compliance with a specific outline provided. Development of a relapse prevention plan is the main area of emphasis. Multiple drafts may be needed to fulfill program requirements. Successful completion of this writing assignment is required to conclude the program.
Services are uniquely tailored to the participant and are based on the issues leading to the referral.
Participants are expected to demonstrate personal responsibility for their actions and for the prevention plan.
Assessment tools used in the program help provide objective measurements of progress and help form the foundation of services provided.
With combined experience of over 90 years, the clinicians who developed our program are knowledgeable in assisting others through change.
Our services are provided primarily through electronic means, allowing the participant to receive services in a cost-effective manner with less disruption to their day-to-day schedule.
