Strategies for the Principled Practice
Strategies for the Principled Practice
Creating Ethical Boundaries originated from a desire to help professionals form a principled practice, grounded in compliance, while providing best practices. The CEB Program is an online tutorial program that provides resources for professionals, and reassurance to referring entities to re-establish public protection after a violation has been determined.
Creating Ethical Boundaries provides an opportunity for professionals to identify the issues contributing to the ethical violation and to create a preventative plan to promote ethical behavior and continued compliance.
The primary focus of our program addresses ethical violations, therefore, no continuing education units are awarded. The services provided in our program are educational and do not represent counseling services which may also be recommended by referring entities.
The importance of upholding administrative compliance and maintaining appropriate boundaries between professionals and their clients (e.g., patient, students, supervisees) can be challenging and is often not well understood. Boundary or breach issues comprise the vast majority of legal cases between professionals and patients/clients. Of course, such violations impact one’s professional license and ultimately the right to practice.
The tutorial program allows the professional to work with experts in the field on an individual basis through a secure, online connection. The program is customized to the needs of the individual professional. Course requirements are designed to maximize understanding of all the issues relevant to professional-client boundaries, while minimizing the probability of further problems.
Referring entities serve a critical role in providing information about the violation. Coordination with the referring entity is an integral part of our services. Many factors lead to violations, therefore we have built a program solidly based in the latest research to aid professionals in re-establishing ethical standards to help protect the people they serve.
